recipe: chai syrup
Cozy and warm through the winter: With this homemade syrup in the soulbottle, the next cup of chai is always at hand! Perfect for anyone who needs a change from mulled wine and punch or is looking for a meaningful gift.
Our syrup has the potential to sweeten the dreary winter! The recipe is quite simple, warms up cozy winter nights and tastes good in many combinations: with a little foamed plant milk, hot tea or on the rocks with a sip of rum. And when given as a gift in a chic soulbottle, this syrup makes it a twice as good gift. This way you can give a little love in bottle form and more than just frills.
Our recipe results in a filled 0.6 l soulbottle.
ingredients:
3 cinnamon sticks
6 cardamom pods
8 cloves
15 peppercorns
750 ml of water
3-4 tablespoons of loose black tea
120 g cane sugar
1 walnut-sized piece of ginger
and this is how it works
-
Roast the spices (except the ginger) in a pan for 2 minutes.
-
Now add the water and ginger and let the pot simmer on a low heat for 20 minutes. Warning: too much heat can make the chai bitter!
-
Remove the pot from the heat, add the tea and let it steep for 10 minutes.
-
Pour all the liquid through a fine sieve and pour it back into a pot.
-
Then add the sugar and let it simmer for another 5-10 minutes until a slightly thick syrup is formed.
-
Let the syrup cool down a bit and pour it into your soulbottle. The perfect sustainable Christmas gift is ready.
dosage
Depending on the intensity you want, mix 1-3 teaspoons into a cup of your favorite drink. We recommend these combinations: with plant-based milk, tea, sparkling water or even with a shot of rum or whiskey. Do you have a better combination?
