water filter
drinking water quality worldwide
Who doesn't know this dilemma? When on vacation, you almost always have to buy water because tap water is not recommended for drinking in over 200 countries. And we actually want to save plastic!
To make this a thing of the past, we have developed the soulfilter.
Because our mission is to reduce plastic consumption and give people access to clean drinking water.

safe & powerful
clean & safe water
With the soulfilter you can now save even more plastic and money. You no longer need to buy bottled water - perfect for your next trip or vacation, yay!
The water filter for soulbottles reliably filters out bacteria, viruses, chlorine, dirt and microplastics – more than most commercially available filters. And all of this without removing minerals.

innovative
Made in Finland
Together with our experienced partner Faircap, we have developed a unique filter for our drinking bottles that filters out not only viruses and bacteria, but also sediments, pesticides and heavy metals. The ultra-fine filter material comes from Finland and has been independently checked and tested several times.

frequently asked questions
The soul filter consists of a very fine-pored (1.2-1.5 micron) fabric through which the water is sucked. For filtering purposes, organisms are classified by size, with viruses being the smallest (0.05 micron), bacteria being 0.5 micron and protozoa being 5 micron. Now you might be thinking: why are viruses and bacteria filtered out if they are smaller than the pore opening? This is because the filter we use uses a very innovative technology. Namely electrostatic adsorption. Wha? Due to the crystalline structure in the filter medium (fabric), which creates a strong positive charge, viruses and bacteria are adsorbed. This is because they have a negative charge.
When used correctly according to the operating instructions, the soulfilter filters these and other pathogens from the groups mentioned – more details here
Yes, but the "lifespan" of the soul filter depends on the proportion of dirt particles. Therefore, a filter cartridge that filters heavily contaminated water (eg mud puddles) must be replaced much sooner.

silicone, polywas...isn't that plastic?
The unfiltered truth: yes, we admit it - for the very first time, we have developed a product with plastic. We produce our products as sustainably as possible , we are really ambitious about that.
However, in order to make the soul filter hygienic and functionally flawless, it must be made of plastic: the filter cover is made of polypropylene*, and the mouthpiece and hose are made of silicone. Both materials are free of harmful substances and safe to use in contact with food. In addition, only the cartridge needs to be changed when the filter has reached its maximum filter performance.
Even though we use plastic in production, you save 300 times more plastic** with the soulfilter than if you were to buy bottled water from plastic bottles!
*Silicone is made from silicon (quartz sand) and synthetic polymers, is not petroleum-based and is not a natural product. Although it is difficult to degrade, it is extremely durable and very robust. It does not release microplastics.PP (polypropylene): high-quality plastic that is normally used for medical products.**You need 200 1.5 l PET bottles for 300 l of clean drinking water. That is about 6 kg of plastic. The soul filter cartridge, on the other hand, has a plastic content of only about 20 g. With the soul filter you use about 300x less plastic than with bottled water in plastic bottles. You also save a lot of resources and CO2 in the procurement of the water (e.g. for extraction, bottling and transport). The material of the soul filter is also recyclable.
faircap
the work of faircap
Faircap is a social enterprise that has come up with a special model: Faircap reinvests the money it earns in the research and development of filter systems for the humanitarian sector.
In addition , for every soulfilter sold, 1 € is donated to Faircap. This allows NGOs to purchase filter systems at a very reasonable price and reach many more people with limited resources.
Our previous soulfilter productions were used to finance the mold for the new Faircap Family Filter Kit. The first prototype is in Niger and a further 2,000 kits are to provide safe and easy access to clean drinking water in Niger, Sudan, Mali and Mauritania.
